Installation Notes
This installation was completed in July of 2023. The owner of the rig contacted me after purchasing a Victron/Battle Born kit based on an Explorist Life example system. The owner decided he did not want to tackle the installation himself, but had done some prep work for the installation already. The owner had also purchase most of the wire and connectors needed for the installation. The owner wanted someone to remove the existing inverter and solar controller and then install the new system, along with a few other odds and ends. The owner was also concerned about the existing solar panel wiring. It appeared the original installer used an extension cord (cut up) to wire the existing solar panels. I had several conversations with the owner about his needs and he sent me pictures of his rig, along with a parts list of the equipment he had purchased. We agreed on a path to go forward and the owner brought the rig to me. Overall the installation of the new equipment was pretty straight forward. Removing the old equipment (and the accompanying wiring) was a bit of a task though. Ultimately, I was able to get all the old stuff out and all the new stuff in over a three day period. Once the installation was complete, the owner returned to pick up his rig and we went over everything. The owner was very happy with the final product and thankful to have the job done.
