Installation Notes

This installation was completed in March of 2022.  The owners of this motorhome want to be able to travel more and boondock without having to run the onboard generator regularly.  They also want the ability to use the motorhome during power outages at their home.  The motorhome had a residential refrigerator and a factory installed Magnum 2012 inverter with an ME-RC50 remote panel.  The OEM installation did not include a battery monitor with the other Magnum components.

The owners were interested in upgrading their system to better, more capable components, including adding lithium batteries and solar.  They went with Victron components for the new equipment and wanted Battle Born lithium batteries.  Initially they requested four standard Battle Born batteries because the existing battery tray could only fit four without modifications.  I spoke to them about Battle Born GC2 batteries and explained I could get six of them in their existing battery tray.  They were happy for the additional storage capacity and agreed to the battery change.  I ordered the necessary parts and we scheduled the installation.

The installation went smoothly, with no major issues.  As is typical with most diesel pusher motorhomes the wire runs were a bit difficult, but I was able to get everything in place with a bit of work.  The owners were very happy with the final product.
